Central City East/Skid Row Heights : Downtown Los Angeles

For years ,The Midnight Mission has had a program called operation safe sleep. People are allowed to sleep in their courtyard and in their dining room in the evening instead of on the sidewalks. After news of the baseball bat killer terrorizing and killing homeless people in Downtown Los Angeles, Georgia Berkovich, community affairs director at The Midnight Mission, could be heard saying in the local news they had started a new effort to shelter those afraid of the baseball bat killer, when ,in fact ,their courtyard is full during the day and night, as well as the dining room. Nothing new and always full. This is an example of how these non profits in skid row , for decades, have been able to fool the public at large, the isolation and the lack of accountability has allowed them to create even non existent new programs.
