The Midnight Mission in skid row serves over 2000 meals on Thanksgiving Day

With the likes of Dick Van Dyke and Anthony Hopkins the homeless of skid row were treated like they are every year to a wonderful sit down meal of Turkey , dressing , and all of the trimmings. This year many were thankful for the opportunity to be there as well as get a hot meal on Thanksgiving day.

"What our guests really get out of this event is to get a chance to see the greater community serving them, caring about them and helping them understand that they may feel forgotten but they're not," said Orlando Ward, Midnight Mission.

Los Angeles Mayoral Candidate Gordon Turner visits skid row on election day

Gordon Turner does make it to skid row on this election day. He was at San Julian Park passing out flyers and speaking to voters. Some voters got excited and asked for handfuls of flyers to begin to pass out to voters on the Nickel.  Someone had passed out flyers last night , apparently, because there were already flyers all over skid row when he arrived.
