Tenants at the Southern Hotel Finally fess up and claim that it was Curtis Price's decision to lock the door and turn off the air conditioner to get even with one of the tenants here at the Southern Hotel during the end of summer heat wave last year.
Curtis was a senior manager and senior to Teresa Cooper at the time.
What happened was an older tenant had called Teresa Cooper all kinds of names at night while he and others were watching television late at night. A tenant, who is no longer residing here, complained about the noise level , when another tenant was confronted by the security guard and the manager, he began to let them know that he had a right to be in the lobby. The door was open because the air conditioner was turned off. After he confronted the manager and the security guard, both women, cursing them out, then things began to happen. The next day, Curtis Price, in order impress the women , had the security guard lock the door at 10 pm. Not only did he do this to impress his lady co-workers he did this to get back at a tenant who had posted a photo of Curtis sleeping in a shopping cart , since he did not know who it was who did that, he took it out on everyone else by locking the lobby and keeping the air conditioner off , when the heat wave came, the security guard was still locking the door to the lobby at 10 pm.
HE was let go by the company. HE no longer works here. And Teresa now uses her own initiative to make sure tragedies which happened during last summer's heat wave do not happen again.
