I am still in shock

What a trip!! I can't believe I can subdomain clean urls. That's it. The only obstacle stopping me from moving on up!!!

All you haters out there can go stick yourselves because I am bringing as many people out of skid row in their own limos when I leave in mine.

I have a surprise up my sleeve.

While everyone is out there pimping us, I will be teaching the people here how to pimp themselves. Teach them to have their own skills and freelance and learn these things on their own time and not at the convenience of the working hours of the non-profit employees. We will slowly eat away at the problems on our own. Times are tough and many families are in skid row. It is time to stop thinking that the non-profits are going to follow through. They seem not to be able to multi-task. SKID ROW residents are about to step up to the plate.

We have come to the point that we know we don't need to count on the non-profits to begin certain initiatives. We are not going to be deterred in our movement because anything positive we do here let them try and stop us, let anyone try and stop us.

Fantastic! Don't get stuck in the paradigm of the non-profits. They drink the same bureaucratic koolaid as the rest of the system. They can't think past the box of funding initiatives and they don't want you thinking critically. So more empowerment to you!

Yeah, working 9-5 and helping in a limited timeframe doesn't always work. I use the toolbar from Give2Network.com to give to "The Giving Spirit" which helps homeless people in LA. It's a small way to give back without having to spend money--instead I can just make sure all of my searches and shopping benefit this charity by using my toolbar. I sometimes switch it up because the Give 2 Network toolbar let's you switch the group if you want to give to more than one. It's pretty decent that Yahoo! spreads the wealth they get from advertisers.

Los Angeles Mayoral Candidate Gordon Turner visits skid row on election day

Gordon Turner does make it to skid row on this election day. He was at San Julian Park passing out flyers and speaking to voters. Some voters got excited and asked for handfuls of flyers to begin to pass out to voters on the Nickel.  Someone had passed out flyers last night , apparently, because there were already flyers all over skid row when he arrived.
