MIdnight MIssion Launches new website

Midnight Mission Launches 2.0 website. It is great looking. But alas it has no blog. As a result bloggers hate this type of thing. We like to feed those blogs to our websites esp if we are supporters.

I may need to go give a class to them. All in all it looks great.... but an interactive site is much better than a static site. So far the Union Rescue Mission continues to beat out all other websites in skid row, other than the latowncrier.com website I have set up.

I will have a page dedicated to the non-profits, and not being able to feed them stink. Union Rescue Mission so far is listening to those who want to help and get the word out.

What I like is the straightforwardness that these organizations are dealing with the public. Instead of just pulling at heart strings with tales of Woe, they are telling us what the needs are. The transparency is amazing. We are jaded. Many are jaded. We see the preacher with the million dollar home , we see the ceos with 6 figure incomes , but we are never told how these missions are providing and doing what needs to be done.

For me the MIdnight MIssion will always hold a special place in my heart.

We need to know. I think I will go buy some trash bags for the Midnight Mission , next month. This is what is needed. Tell us the need and we can come through.

the site sucks. It looks great , but there are tools that can be utilized to keep people abreast of what is happening that the Midnight Mission can update themselves without having to go back to their webmaster and pay them to do those things.

A blog that can be syndicated and other pages that can be syndicated are what is needed. A static website is horrible , esp now in the year 2009.

MOst web designers don't want to create content management systems for their clients ,simply because the clients won't have to constantly go back to the webmaster if they are able to update the website themselves. It is bad business for greedy webmasters.

No' the website sucks. From the content management perspective in the year 2009 this website could be considered to be something put up by someone in the late 1990's.

Los Angeles Mayoral Candidate Gordon Turner visits skid row on election day

Gordon Turner does make it to skid row on this election day. He was at San Julian Park passing out flyers and speaking to voters. Some voters got excited and asked for handfuls of flyers to begin to pass out to voters on the Nickel.  Someone had passed out flyers last night , apparently, because there were already flyers all over skid row when he arrived.
