Power and control issues

I wonder sometimes why people are so insecure that they have to throw their weight around to prove to themselves that they have worht. It has been interesting observing such a person and person's where I am living at as they continue to express those personality disorders that they have as a result of their addictive personalities. Power and control seem to be a theme in their personalities. If they feel that they can not control a situation or someone they will do everything in their power to remove that threat to their ego... Just the other day someone tried to get my goat..... it was interesting as it was a set up. He was ready with his cell phone and as he yelled and screamed and hollered at me in the dining room that he was in control and I should do what he said , he knew that I wasn't going to back down from him.. thus one of the people serving the food , who was in his case management , he made sure to tell him that he could not feed me.... to show to everyone that he ...

Downtown News a waste of time and bandwidth

The LA Downtown news seems to be getting a lot of it's articles from Blogdowntown and other blogs online..It seems to me that it is just a plain waste of time to even go to their new website... SO I have cancelled my email update and removed the ladowntownnews from of my favorites in my browser.... Blogdowntown is the only news source I need to read anyway for downtown news and happenings.....

celebrating mental illness

As we watch as the new film ; The Soloist, is released, I am very well aware of the tragedy of mental illness. I am one who wound up at such a young age at around 21 having to deal with Major Depression and to make things worse hypothyroidism. The hypothyroidism made the depression even worse and made me lethargic and I was tortured at every level because of my decrease in physical abilities the rest of my time in the Marine Corps. After we came home from desert storm I was confronted with my family berating me as a murderer, particularly my Uncle and my Aunti.. I had called from a forward area where 2nd marine division had established a chow hall ,and it seemed I would miss the main assault into Kuwait so I let my family know this, unfortunately for me I did make the main assault and did go through the breeches in the mine fields with my unit. When we came home from that war... I was even letting my Uncle know that I was about get get all of my tuition paid for by the State of Texas...

LA WEEKLY steals copyrighted photo I took of Lesley TAplin

LA WEEKLY CORRECTS THEIR ERROR : GOD BLESS LESLEY TAPLIN>>>>She taught us well to fight for our rights as skid row artists.... LA Weekly has kicked me in the gut. I am still very distraught over the loss of my very good friend Lesley Taplin...now the LA Weekly steals a photo I took of my friend in trying to get the right photo to show who she really was. This photo was taken during a skid row neighborhood watch walk. I knew Lesley since 2000. It was I she began her relationship with skid row as we fought together to see to it that Skid row residents had a voice on the neighborhood council. She asked me many times why I would not run for that seat. I told her it was because I worked so that my neighbors ion skid row would begin to participate in their own self-determination. She understood.. She is the reason I am the Official Town Crier of Los Angeles. Eric Richardson called before he even used the photo at his blog and got permission to use it.. The LA WEELY on the other ...

The Great MIssion experience- Resurrection Sunday

Family praying during the invocation before the meal is served Helping at mission's in skid row is not just the perks of movies stars , but it can also be a great experience for all of us . The highlights of these experiences are the various feedings on holidays such as Easter , Christmas , and Thanksgiving...My most wonderful time is always at Easter. The Midnight Mission always has it's celebration on Easter Sunday, which many of us call Resurrection Sunday. For many of the people who reside in skid row and surrounding areas, the Midnight Mission celebration is the place to be on resurrection Sunday. Volunteers and guests alike come to the Midnight Mission on Resurrection Sunday because they would rather be of service than just be at home . One father brings his children to serve those who come to enjoy the meal of chicken and ham every easter.... This father brings his whole family out every easter Sunday to help at the MIdnight MIssion. The most exciting aspect of the ev...

Patient Dumping is more than Hospitals dumping- it's providing the housing in skid row without the supportive services

We have been focused on hospitals dumping the mentally ill in skid row, yet patient dumping involves more than just hospitals dumping mentally ill patients , it also involves those housing providers that claim to have onsite supportive services , yet do not. With the LATIMES article on how the State Assembly is raiding the money to provide the services for the mentally ill to fix the California state budget, we need to realize that allowing the creation of housing for the mentally ill, such as the Rossylyn Hotel on main street is not going to cut it anymore. There must be supportive services provided on site... Skid Row Housing Trust has been working to bring the actual services to their over 20 hotels in the downtown area of skid row and the housing they are building in downtown los angeles away from skid row. The reports from tenants at the St George hotel on 3rd street and main tell of many tenants who are satisfied to be living there and have mantained their housing because of the...

Los Angeles Mission Continues to Wash feet

Downtown Los Angeles-skid row While many see this as a religious commandment from the savior Jesus Christ to followers of Christianity , the Los Angeles Mission takes the time to not only wash the feet of those on the streets of skid row as a show of humility and service, but to find those who are neglectful of their feet or just plain have no access to medical care. This past Friday at the Los Angeles Mission Easter Celebration and feeding, volunteers and doctors tended to the feet and the SOLES of those who needed the care. This blog will always highlight this event because this event has saved many lives and has saved many limbs. The savior himself washed the feet of his disciples as a show of humility, but to also show that we are to serve one another...

meet your council person at a meet and greet on April 14th at a Downtown Los Angeles Neighborhood Council Meeting......JAN PERRY, JOSE HUIZAR , ED REYES

finally ready to begin a project I have started

While I struggled to get my net access situation under control... I had also been struggling to get a couple of projects I had initiated going and finished. The primary implementation of the framework for these projects has been accomplished , now it is going to be about designing the user end of these projects. One project I will show to those who follow me on this blog, but the other one will remain anonymous as it is being created for a business that will continue to use my services, and I choose to keep my fans and my competitors away from who has built this new project for now.. Thanks to the Midnight Mission and primarily Orlando Ward and Kathy Ward for being instrumental in bringing me to the Midnight Mission. In the environment I was living in previously, there wasn't anyway to get the projects completed as the small SRO room was causing sickness . One of the projects has been ongoing , but this new project, coming to fruition, is going to make me feel good about the reaso...

who makes a better LA Woman?

American Identity a Success

Producer Henry Priest with the Marines invited to the preview- the marine sergeant to his left has a combat action ribbon and a presidential unit citation on his right breast. One of the greatest lessons you ever learn in the military and in a combat setting is that it is a greater grief for a family when one is in the line of fire. I can speak from experience; to be in front of the enemy, engaging the enemy , you know that that is what you signed up for and the chances of being killed are there. So you think to yourself , well, I am gonna live or die, but if I die it is over for me. I go on to the next life without a care in the world , but my family has to deal with the aftermath, the grief and the coming to terms with the loss of their son, daughter, brother, sister, mother, father, grandfather, grandmother or dear friend. American Identity is a film based on what happens to a family when one is deployed, when ones dies and returns in a coffin. It shows that there are other victims o...

COLD fusion? the United States Navy is saying what?

Having been gone for a while from the world wide Internets, I am now astounded that there has been news that the a chemist in the US Navy is stating that cold fusion may be viable . It is an interesting aspect to get cold fusion because we can release energy from the nucleus of atoms on a scale that will allow for the control of nuclear fusion at a low cost. We have released energy from the nucleus of heavy metals in the form of nuclear and hydrogen bombs , now who knows what we can do. If einstein's equation holds up , it is certain that we will continue to know and believe that the atoms themselves have an inner energy that can be released on a much smaller scale than making huge nuclear reactions with those heavy metals. E=mc² has made the advancements in science that have continued to propel us on to next levels. To hear a navy chemist claiming that there is something to cold fusion , well, it makes one hope that cheap and environmentally safe energy sources from hydrogen are...

213 dog running for Governor of California

Sources are sure that 213 dog is running for Governor of the State Of California. Sources close to Central City East have said that it is important that we as a state have qualified creatures to run this state. Endorsements have come from the many dogs and cats and esp. the chickens that are running around the streets of east la. 213 dog has refused to comment. But female dogs- the bitches-have said that he would fit right in since he has no balls. His platform involves : Discounted rates on grooming. An increase in funding for aid to dogs without families who have litters. Food stamps for low income dogs.. An end to the death penalty for homeless dogs. and no more newspapers. 213 dog sees newspapers demise as payback for the days dogs had been trained with them.
