Having been gone for a while from the world wide Internets, I am now astounded that there has been news that the a chemist in the US Navy is stating that cold fusion may be viable. It is an interesting aspect to get cold fusion because we can release energy from the nucleus of atoms on a scale that will allow for the control of nuclear fusion at a low cost. We have released energy from the nucleus of heavy metals in the form of nuclear and hydrogen bombs , now who knows what we can do. If einstein's equation holds up , it is certain that we will continue to know and believe that the atoms themselves have an inner energy that can be released on a much smaller scale than making huge nuclear reactions with those heavy metals.
E=mc² has made the advancements in science that have continued to propel us on to next levels. To hear a navy chemist claiming that there is something to cold fusion , well, it makes one hope that cheap and environmentally safe energy sources from hydrogen are on the way....I just think it is neat to hear that no one has given up on cold fusion. It also means that mass and energy continue to be proven to be one and the same on a much smaller scale than ever imagined.
