Downtowners voting against Jack Weiss , Gordon Turner being supported by sro residents

I went to 4th and main today and spoke with people and they asked me who I was voting for for city attorney. I asked first who they voted for. Well , with the most utter disdain in their facial expressions ,many people said not Jack Weiss , many said that they had voted for Carmen Trutanich, and then, as if they weren't sure what that person's campaign was all about, went on to ask me what I thought about their preference, and I said I don't know . Many stated that they just wanted to vote against Jack Weiss. One Person even told me why they voted against him and that was because during the aclu settlement and the fight over proposition 41.18 d JAck Weiss was on the side of Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa in making downtown los angeles the only place in the city where people could camp out on the sidewalks from 9pm until 6am . That person went on to say they were offended that a man of Jewish faith wanted to create a ghetto in a place that could not handle all of those people. A place that didn't have enough services and housing to provide for them and create an open air concentration camp... People just keep telling me that they voted against Jack Weiss , just got a phone call as I was writing , someone told me they voted for someone else. It looks like the vote against Jack Weiss is something people are doing no matter what.

Gordon Turner is making an inroad in skid row. Many people here in skid row have been asking me about Gordon Turner . They see him on the interviews on the news broadcasts and it looks like this predominantly african american community will be, esp those living in the sro's, will be voting for Gordon Turner tomorrow , as a matter of fact, rumors are that he will be making an appearance here in skid row, although I will be voting for Antonio Villaraigosa , I have said if you don't like Antonio and just can't bare to vote for him , then there is a candidate you can vote for and that is Gordon Turner. I will find out tomorrow if Gordon Turner will actually make it to skid row , we shall see. The biggest reason that people are voting for him is because of his work on prosecuting patient dumping from hospitals. Who would have thought that these skid row voters would be so informed as to why they are voting a certain way...

Wendy Greuel is also a big choice here in skid row... crazy isn't it. The main reason: Jan Perry endoresed Wendy Greuel. ANtonio also is being voted for by skid row residents and I think the vote will be split between Antonio Villaraigosa and Gordon Turner...in skid row anyway...

Los Angeles Mayoral Candidate Gordon Turner visits skid row on election day

Gordon Turner does make it to skid row on this election day. He was at San Julian Park passing out flyers and speaking to voters. Some voters got excited and asked for handfuls of flyers to begin to pass out to voters on the Nickel.  Someone had passed out flyers last night , apparently, because there were already flyers all over skid row when he arrived.
