Hurricane Gustav upgraded to Category 5 : 945 millibars in center




Hurricane Gustav is no Joke. I pray all of the Gulf Coast begins evacuations , not just Louisiana. These things are unpredictable. Gustav was upgraded to Category 5 , the National Hurricane Center website is placing the Hurricane in the category 4 range. The barometric pressure in the middle of the storm is at 945 millibars. This is going to be a very dangerous storm. Evacuations are being made across the Gulf Coast Region of the Untied States. KPRCTV channel two in Houston , Texas, is reporting that preparations are being made in Mississippi and Texas. School buses from Dallas are headed to the "strike zone" to help with evacuations.

Los Angeles Mayoral Candidate Gordon Turner visits skid row on election day

Gordon Turner does make it to skid row on this election day. He was at San Julian Park passing out flyers and speaking to voters. Some voters got excited and asked for handfuls of flyers to begin to pass out to voters on the Nickel.  Someone had passed out flyers last night , apparently, because there were already flyers all over skid row when he arrived.
