Why the change in writing?

Now that the hard part is over? The Central City East DASH bus is about to be implemented and the skid row community is engaged in speaking for itself. Now it is time to tackle the issues no one really wants to hear about. The Best exploiters of those living in skid row: the social service providers.

What perplexes me is that no one really takes these things to heart. We, who live it, have to constantly be grateful for the housing we do have. Yet, what is that housing really like to live in? Do you know? We do, and it is those of us who are physically ill who are at the mercy of those who are not, those who can be bought to keep silent by the different housing providers.

I don't need accolades or credit or none of that because I know that the work I am doing is going to be the hardest work of all. The work that will not make me too many friends . Having to expose the atrocities committed by the housing providers and their employees. We are neglected , tortured, and pimped out to those who do not know any better. These social service providers have the resources to launch PR campaigns so that they can continue to build housing that kills. Ignore the many drug dealers and those hotel managers who are also engaged in the process of dealing drugs and allowing things like prostitution to happen in those hotels , but use the few to claim that all is well. All the while the law abiding tenants continue to die in their rooms from heat stroke and neglect.

It is a serious issue. Many don't want to hear it. Right now, the social service providers are using the residents in skid row to speak very well of them in documentaries. They understand the value of the press. Their mantra is that we must focus on the positives of skid row. All this is a red herring to try and distract all of us from the truth. These social service providers are doing things half way. Many people continue to die in their hotels. We must speak up. We can not be like the Christians when the Jews were being exterminated back during the Hitler regime in Germany. We must speak up. SKID ROW HOTELS EVEN THE NEW ONES ARE NOT CONDUCIVE TO LIVE IN> THEY HOLD HEAT IN THE SUMMER AND MANY DIE .

We have to speak up . We can not hide the truth from the world or skid row will continue to be a crime against humanity.

Los Angeles Mayoral Candidate Gordon Turner visits skid row on election day

Gordon Turner does make it to skid row on this election day. He was at San Julian Park passing out flyers and speaking to voters. Some voters got excited and asked for handfuls of flyers to begin to pass out to voters on the Nickel.  Someone had passed out flyers last night , apparently, because there were already flyers all over skid row when he arrived.
