Central City East will not be intimidated

Living in a part of the downtown Los Angeles community that is inundated with drug sales I know what it is like to live around those who become suspicious of those who do not participate in the use of those drugs.

When one is as vocal as I have been against the dealing in and around skid row there will be those who will become quite paranoid at my mere presence. You see. Chris Schindler was the night manager at a restaurant on Main street. Many of us are aware of the shenanigans that were happening there in the evenings when he was working there. No one said anything , but I assume there had been pressure placed on him to treat me with disrespect from those whom he hung out with after hours who are known drug dealers while he was in the restaurant. Some who participated in the smoking of said drugs also were harassing me. It took awhile to realize this because i had the stereotype that upper income individuals don't behave the way low income individuals do. Well, I learned late that it is the same when people are doing things that are illegal. The person who approached me after using the restroom behind the restaurant was an employee at that restaurant. SO we know and can assume that Chris knew what was happening. You see , skid row is under siege because of these new loft people moving in around skid row who use drugs and have their connections who are placed not in the open but in places that one wouldn't suspect of them dealing from those places. It is very hypocritical of them to throw stones in our direction when they come down here to score drugs or there are those who infiltrate businesses along main street to be able to deal from.

I will not be intimidated. It was only a matter of time before Chris's shenanigan's caught up with him.

Los Angeles Mayoral Candidate Gordon Turner visits skid row on election day

Gordon Turner does make it to skid row on this election day. He was at San Julian Park passing out flyers and speaking to voters. Some voters got excited and asked for handfuls of flyers to begin to pass out to voters on the Nickel.  Someone had passed out flyers last night , apparently, because there were already flyers all over skid row when he arrived.
