God Bless the Corps

The Los Angeles Fire Department will honor the Marine Corps today at it's firestations. Many Marine Corps veterans serve honorably in the Los Angeles fire department. Brian Humphrey had this to say about our brave marines in the LAFD.

In celebration of the remarkable men and women of the USMC, members of the LAFD will proudly host a gathering to honor active, reserve and veteran Marines, including those who now proudly serve as Los Angeles Firefighters.

All Marines, including friends of the Corps are cordially invited to attend, and military attire is welcome:

Los Angeles Mayoral Candidate Gordon Turner visits skid row on election day

Gordon Turner does make it to skid row on this election day. He was at San Julian Park passing out flyers and speaking to voters. Some voters got excited and asked for handfuls of flyers to begin to pass out to voters on the Nickel.  Someone had passed out flyers last night , apparently, because there were already flyers all over skid row when he arrived.
