Union Rescue Mission Thanksgiving Whoville Celebration
On Saturday, November 22, Union Rescue Mission (URM), CEO Andy Bales will be joined by 300 volunteers and the Mayor of Whoville from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment “Horton Hears A Who!” to serve a Thanksgiving Meal, Whoville style, to more than 3,500 men, women & children who are homeless on Skid Row this holiday season.
This year’s festival will feature a delicious Thanksgiving meal, live entertainment, lots of give-a-ways and a Whoville themed Kid Zone that’s sure to be a big hit with children and adults alike.
Although this is such an exciting event for all of us, where each person who comes to the event will be treated with love and dignity, the reality is, when this event is over, Union Rescue Mission continues to provide help and support for about 2,600 hurting and hungry people who comes through our doors daily.
Because of our country's uncertain economy, we have seen more struggling families come to us these past months. However, with your help, the Union Rescue Mission will be able to continue transforming Skid Row one life at a time.
