Got there a little late but was in time to hear the Vantastics which is the quartet that Dick Van Dyke sings with.
And , yes , that woman that has been stalking me since last Saturday was also there enjoying Dick Van Dyke and that quartet take us back to our childhood days.
The house loved it and we all had fun. It is always fun at the Midnight Mission and this is the place I call my home on Thanksgiving Day and Easter Sunday and Christmas Day.
The Mayor was over at the serving Table. I walked over to snap some pix. There he was and would you believe he was serving the beans, green beans that is. Goes to show even the Mayor knows he can be full of beans.
Well ,of course , since the Midnight Mission is where I come to enjoy my Holiday meals I grabbed a plate and wouldn't you know it they have the perfect pecan pie.
Usually we eat like pigs at this event. I sit down and we all sort of know each other. Today we all ate one plate and then that was it. Many felt it wasn't right since the economy has been so bad. SO most people ate and left. I saw many coming from the Fred Jordan Mission when I arrived. You could tell because they had that footlocker bag with them.
It was now time to get back to the party and I see none other than Tim Russ, you know him if you are a trekkie, he played Tuvok on Star Trek Voyager. He is now singing blues. HE is good. His Sister was there with her family to help serve.
Yep, and there they go. The Midnight Mission all volunteer blues band.
We had fun and fun and fun. The great thing about having the Midnight Mission all volunteer blues band is that we get a chance to burn off the food we eat during Thanksgiving.
