Skid Row LIning up behind Mayoral Candidate Gordon Turner

Many people in skid row know who Gordon Turner is. HE is the hero that has been working with the Union Rescue Mission in the area of Patient Dumping. The Union Rescue Mission holds a lot of influence in skid row since Andy Bales has become the president of the Union Rescue Mission. Andy Bales does not come from the corporate field and did not become president of the Union Rescue Mission to maintain a style of living like so many other executive directors have had when they were in the corporate business world to maintain a standard of living. He has instituted outreach efforts in skid row by passing out bottles of water. Those are the basics that the Savior or Lord Jesus Christ commands those who are called to do his work. They are not called to sit behind a huge wall and then have fundraisers with movie stars and call that the work of the Lord. And of course the Union Rescue Mission will be supporting Gordon Turner.

One of the biggest influences will be from the community organizers who hold sway to the ears of thousands of skid row voters they come into contact everyday. These are organizers that have been around for years .

There are many reason's that skid row is lining up behind Gordon Turner and those will be made known soon. I ascribe it to one thing. Someone who will actually come to skid row and speak with the residents on the streets.

It is going to be an interesting Mayoiral Race now that we know that Gordon Turner is in the race. Remember Obama taught us that it is the small contributions that made his campaign coffers tremendous not the large ones. Grass roots is behind Gordon Turner

It's good to hear that we have a viable choice for Mayor- I was bummed thinking Tony Villar was going to run unopposed. I look forward to more of your info on Gordon Turner.

There's actually a number of people running for Mayor, many of whom have been active in the community if they're not big names or don't have big money. The problem is the media ignores them - let the people decide if it's a viable candidate.

A young man named Phil Jennerjahn is also running. He is very interesting and can speak several languages.

He hasn't started campaigning yet...but I've seen his website being built at

I have a question about Gordon Turners validity as a candidate.

We are only 60 days from the election, yet if you do a Google search on "Gordon Turner" for Mayor almost no information is available about him.

How can he expect voters to know about him if he has no presence?

I don't have 2 million dollars like Antonio Villaraigosa, but at least I have a great website and Google searchers can find me on the internet and watch videos of me.

Los Angeles Mayoral Candidate Gordon Turner visits skid row on election day

Gordon Turner does make it to skid row on this election day. He was at San Julian Park passing out flyers and speaking to voters. Some voters got excited and asked for handfuls of flyers to begin to pass out to voters on the Nickel.  Someone had passed out flyers last night , apparently, because there were already flyers all over skid row when he arrived.
